Emrich Schönleber
Monzinger Fruhlingsplatzchen, Riesling, Auslese, 2011
justerini & brooks tasting note
Stunningly attractive, floral and open-knit, smooth easy ripe flavours of orange blossom honey, tinned peach, honeysuckle, red apple and apricot, this is full of pleasure and sunshine, it will keep you coming back for more. A vineyard that takes its name from the German for “Spring” Fruhling. This early ripening site is one of the first places where the winter snow melts, hailing the arrival of Spring. Frank Schoenleber finished his harvest the 17th October, a week later there was rain. The grapes came into the winery were in perfect healty, ripe, concentrated and very clean. The Dry wines are intense and big "like 2009" Frank says adding that "conditions was also perfect for very pure late harvest wines."
