Auf dem Haun, Chardonnay, 2022

The maiden vintage of the Auf dem Haun as a single vineyard Chardonnay, its class is evident from the first taste. There is a more fluid feel to the fruit here, a little new world edge even, in its gentle, aromatic profile, leading in to a finer longer beam of acidity. The vines are a combination of ages, the soil characterised by silt atop limestone bedrock. Though it is west facing and warmer during the day, it can be 6C colder at night than the Lohpfad – offering a quality mix of ripeness and freshness. Just 1,000 bottles produced.
