Albino Rocca
Barbaresco, Brich Ronchi, 1999
justerini & brooks tasting note
Aged in new wood barriques but not too heavily marked by wood on the palate. The oak integrates well with spicy fruit, dark chocolate and truffle flavours, tannins are high but ripe, big structure. Will need time, leave for six years before approaching.

The 1999 Barbaresco Vigneto Bric Ronchi is now fully mature. Blackberry jam, mushrooms, worn-in leather, licorice and scorched earth inform a huge, opulent Barbaresco with tons of intensity. Still, the 1999 is at the end of its road, and needs to be enjoyed within the next year or two at most.
