Barbaresco, 2019

Available Vintages
justerini & brooks tasting note

There was much less of this made in 2019, as a lot more was used for the crus than usual. Really bright, fresh red cherry fruit. Direct, crisp and taut. Long, luminous, and juicy, this illuminates the palate with its vivid, crystalline red fruit. This may not be as complex as the crus, but it has stunning poise and surprising length. Pure pleasure. A blend of declassified wine from the Rabaja and Faset vineyards. Aged for a little less time than the crus, 18 months in large old Slavonian oak casks.

critic reviews

92/100Antonio Galloni,Vinous

The 2019 Barbaresco is such a pretty wine. Freshly cut flowers, cinnamon, orange peel, mint and dried cherry give this mid-weight, finely-knit Barbaresco a good deal of aromatic complexity as well as nuance. Silky and inviting, the 2019 is a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next decade or so, give or take. The 2019 is all pleasure.
