    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note
    Domenico Clerico, Barolo, Bricotto, 2010

From the North part of Bussia under the vines from which Aldo Conterno's Cicala is produced. Almost certainly one of the most open and seductive young Clericos yet, full of sweet and savoury character. Suave velvety, mouth-coating flavours of hedgerow fruits, damson plum and cherry. Gently perfumed and refreshingly bright, this simply oozes class. A beauty. Re-installed as of the 2008 vintage, the last previous year was in 1994. In between this time the wine was going into the Arte blend, as the parcel is so small and barely produces enough wine to warrant its own bottling. Clerico is now bottling up this small but fantastic cuvee in magnums only, only 750 individual magnums are produced a year.

Good bright, dark red. Red cherry, mocha, licorice and dried flowers on the nose and palate, accented by mint and menthol. Juicy, sappy and youthfully tight; less obviously dense than the 2009 but displays terrific cut and really fills the mouth with perfume. Finishes with a firm tannic spine. I'd give this five or six years of cellaring.
