Gripping, intense but agile. Gripping sweet red berry fruits overlaid by a silken veil. Notes of dried rose petal, strawberry and minerals with a touch of kirsch. A wine of beauty and dimension. Bricco Francesco is forty year old parcel at the top of the Rocche dell Annunziata vineyard situated at 350 metres above sea level. The highest, most exposed (south west facing ) part of the vineyard has a higher proportion of limestone in its clay soils here than in other parts and it typically yields refined, complex age-worthy wines. After forty day post fermentation maceration the wine is aged for three years in 30hl Slavonian oak casks.
