    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note
Duemani, Suisassi, Syrah, IGP Costa Toscana, 2012

Floral and expressive nose of violets and ripe berries. Full and voluptuous on the palate but juicy too, perfectly weighted and really well -judged oak. Clearly Syrah in its plump berry and salt and pepper spice but a very natural, seamless with. Characterful, full-bodied but with lots of lift and energy. A brilliant Suisassi. Biodynamically farmed. A stunning Syrah fermented and aged in 80% new oak barriques for 18 months, just 375 cases were made.

The 2012 Syrah Suisassi brings together the density and richness of the Tuscan coast, but the inclusion of whole clusters adds freshness and also seems to bring forward considerable varietal character. Sweet dark cherries, violets, lavender, quinine and spices are some of the many notes that grace the open-knit finish. The Syrah is fermented and aged in cask, a technique Luca D'Attoma first used at Le Macchiole.
