Carmignano, Riserva, Piaggia, 2000
A refined, mouth-watering wine that shows creamy blackcurrant and wild berry fruit, hints of cinnamon spice and fine-grained tannins.
critic reviews
The 2000 Carmignano Riserva is simply the best of the appellation, rich and potent on the nose, an explosion of perfectly ripe berry fruit, minerals, and tar, and a palate of exceptional concentration, roundness, intensity, and velvet. Among the unrestrained admirers of this wine is Andrea Franchetti of Tenuta di Trinoro, not only an outstanding producer but also a connoisseur of superior winemaking. Drink: 2005-2020.
