Subtly aromatic and on the more high-toned end of the Pinot spectru, this is airy and fleet of foot as opposed to the grounded power of Block 5. Juicy red berry notes make for a refreshing, animated palate. As lofty and refined as this is, there is a pleasing edge for those that like Pinot with a bit of verve. Long, stylish and haunting flavours echo the finish. Block 3 is a gentle north-facing slope in the middle of The Elms vineyard. 25% whole Clusters. 13 Months in 25% French new Oak Barrels.

The 2023 Pinot Noir Block 3 is not quite as fruity as the rest of the range, being a little more floral and restrained. It is taut and focused with excellent precision and tension. Festive spiced cake, blackberry and wild raspberry unfurl, finish with long, long length.
The 2023 Block 3 Pinot Noir is powerful and positively saturated in flavor and tannin. It is dripping with it. There are notes of black cherries, mulberries, blood plum, blood orange, a hint of cocoa powder, a suggestion of sweet tobacco and roasted game. It's got it all. The tannins feel to melt into the fruit in the way that seams of fat render into wagyu. This is excellent. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
