    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

A similar backwardness and earthiness to the Calvert but with more gloss to it. Full and deep with great length of flavour. Statuesque yet stylish, so complete and harmonious. A broad palette of flavours - hedgerow fruit, red cherry, herbs, asian spice and undergrowth. Expansive, mouth-filling and sensual. From a parcel within the north facing Elms vineyard where the soils are similar to Calvert, clay-dominated loess, yielding complex and powerful wines. Fermented with 25% whole bunches and aged for 17 months in a quarter new burgundy barrels.

The 2018 Block 5 Pinot Noir shows its typical dark earthiness and sous-bois notes, black cherry fruit and hints of mocha. It's medium-bodied and plump in the mouth, with plenty of flesh, supple tannins and a long, softly dusty finish tinged with clove, cinnamon and cocoa. It should drink well for at least a decade.
