Graham's, Vintage Port, 2017

Tasting Note:

From four properties, combining north and south expositions, the 2017 Vintage Port represents just 11% of the total production. This is a viscous, concentrated, albeit-typical Graham’s once the fragrant, lifted aromas of sweet red fruits and mint emerge from the glass. A slightly higher proportion of Touriga Franca than usual offers up beautiful dark fruit too; black cherries and plum, finishing on sweet spices, blackberry and star anise. Time in the glass sees layers forming, and an embrace of sleek, velvety tannins cushions the wine, leading in to a long, aristocratic finish. Just 11% of the total production went in to the Vintage Port to produce a total of 5,250 cases. 47% Touriga Franca, 35% Touriga Nacional, 11% Sousau and 7% Field Blends.
