Cain Concept, Napa Valley, 2010

Dark purple in colour with cassis, cocoa and sweet redcurrant the Cain Concept 2010 is a blend of vineyards and hails from one of the cooler vintages in the last decade. Yields were down but the grapes were picked early before the rains and the style of the year is one that conveys a certain freshness and wild complexity without losing power or structure. Decant ahead of time and enjoy as it unfurls in the glass. Far from a showy, branded Napa Cab, the Cain style is one that requires introspection and time in the glass.
