Highland Close, Chehalem Highlands, Pinot Noir, 2016
Wonderful complex red berry and floral notes, the most seductive, siren-like wine of the range, with great refinement and pure stony notes that underpin succulent, scented red fruit and iron laced minerality. So polished, the texture here is one of pure allure, yet it manages to deliver flavour in a wonderfully weightless way. Seamless and beautifully integrated, a wine of charm and persistence from a high vineyards set in the central cut of the Chehalem Mountains AVA.
critic reviews
Deep, vivid red. Expansive, deeply perfumed aromas of fresh dark berries, cherry liqueur, cola, incense and potpourri, along with a hint of allspice and black tea that emerge with aeration. Offers densely packed, primary blackberry, bitter cherry and licorice flavors that tighten up slowly and become sweeter with air. Delivers a suave blend of richness and energy on the strikingly long, spice-laced finish, which is supported by chewy, steadily building tannins.
