Koosah, Eola Amity Hills, Chardonnay, 2021
justerini & brooks tasting note
Less smoky reduction than the Anne, this sits more on the floral stone fruit side of things initially, yet after a calm start blossoms and grows into an intense peacocks tail of a finish built upon a driving spine of acidity and minerality. Ripe but with plenty of racy edge kicking it on. This comes from two blocks in Koosah, a vineyard planted by Biodynamic pioneer Kevin Chambers – a man known for his love of tie dye as much as his viticultural prowess – to which the label pays tribute. It is the highest vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills.
