Seven Springs, Pinot Noir, 2018
Decidedly lighter in colour than the Sojeau, with a nose that speaks of wild strawberry, cherry, cracked herbs, wild flowers and baked terracotta. This has wonderfully fine tannins and a sense of freshness that propels the wine across the palate, notes of black pepper, volcanic rock and wild cherry that lead to a long, lingering complex finish. This is an exceptionally pure and elegant Pinot Noir this from one of the most iconic vineyards in the Willamette Valley.
critic reviews
Saturated scarlet. Spice-tinged black raspberry and cherry aromas are complicated by suggestions of cola, incense, potpourri and smoky minerals. Sweet and expansive in the mouth, offering concentrated dark berry, cherry preserve and spicecake flavors and suggestions of rose pastille and mocha that build through the midpalate. Concentrated but also energetic in style, delivering powerful finishing thrust, well-judged tannins and impressive, floral-driven persistence. 35% new oak.
