Brimming with spicy red and black fruit notes on the nose. On the palate, a broader, more creamy, more hedonic approach than Vaucrains, layered with sweet minerals and ripe plummy notes. Layers of fruit and spice, with sweet ripe tannins and more ripe perfume than anything else in the range. A long fruit filled finish adds to the sense of dimension, scale and grandeur. The outstanding vineyard of Nuits, situated mid-slope and with a great balance of clay and limestone soils – many people believe it should be elevated to Grand Cru status.
