Chambolle Musigny, 2023
Floral and crystalline, with lots of dried-flower aromas, touches of noble bitterness and sleek, fine tannins. More whole bunch character here (it was fermented with 70% whole bunches) but a gorgeous texture overall. From 12 parcels dotted across the appellation.

The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Village is beautifully perfumed, soaring from the glass with scents of orange zest, raspberries and rose petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and sensual palate. Readers might wish to think of it as an amalgam of the aromas and finesse of the 2021 and the flesh and texture of 2022.
The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Village includes around 50% stems imparting a pleasant pepperiness on the nose. It includes a mixture of well-defined red and black fruit with plenty of character. The palate is fleshy and medium-bodied with a licorice-tinged entry and good density on the finish. This is utterly delicious.
