94/100Luis Gutierrez,Robert Parker Wine Advocate

The vineyard Cami Pesseroles is planted with red and white grapes, and in the past, they produced a white from there. But there's now an "orange" skin-contact wine (known as "brisat" in the Catalan language), of which I tasted the 2019 Pesseroles Brisat. They planted traditional white varieties, Picapoll Blanco, Garnacha Blanca and Pedro Ximenez, and in 2002, on the slate soils of the vineyard between Gratallops and Torroja del Priorat. The full clusters were foot trodden and fermented in tinaja with indigenous yeasts and no added sulfur. The wine macerated for a month, and once it was pressed, it matured in those tinajas for some two years. It has a golden color and a captivating nose of yellow fruit and pollen, with fine tannins and good tension, moderate alcohol (13%) and very good freshness. All of their production is organic, but this bottle does not carry the seal. This should develop nicely in bottle. 614 bottles were filled in November 2021.
