Aloxe Corton, Les Fournières, 1er Cru, 2022
Tasted after the Lavieres this has a note of wild sauvage rockiness and spiced hedgerow fruit – an autumnal feel, with darker fruits and suave powerful tannins. One to broach after others in this range. The Tollot Beaut's Fournieres vines average fifty years old, planted on poor stony soils, yield intense but velvety Aloxes.

The 2022 Aloxe-Corton Les Fournières 1er Cru has more Pinoté and delineation on the nose compared to the Les Vercots. The oak is more integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with powdery tannins and moderate depth. A hint of graphite infuses the dark berry fruit with a touch of black pepper on the aftertaste. Give this a couple of years in bottle.
