Tollot Beaut
Aloxe Corton, Les Fournières, 1er Cru, 2023
justerini & brooks tasting note
Bright, candied raspberry, with tons of fruit sweetness and a sense of brilliance to the fruit. Full of up-front appeal and ripe red fruit. This was harvested straight after the Beaunes at the start of the harvest cycle, so as to preserve freshness. Tollot-Beaut's Fournières vines average 50 years old, planted on poor stony soils, and yield intense but velvety Aloxes.

The 2023 Aloxe-Corton Les Fournières 1er Cru has a totally different fruit profile to the Vercots, with more red fruit, more Pinot and more definition. The palate is ripe on the entry but there is tension here, with an attractive grainy texture and a precise, energetic finish. The 2023 is a quite delicious Aloxe-Corton in the making.
