    Warm, sun-ripened berry fruits - notes of damson, Victoria plum and strawberry. An underlying salty, stony note brings life and focus to the finish - reflecting the poor stony soils of this vineyard. The Tollot Beaut's Fournières vines average fifty years old, yielding intense but velvety Aloxes.

    The 2018 Aloxe-Corton Les Fournières 1er Cru has the same level of alcohol as the Les Vercots, although there is more power on the nose, which features copious raspberry coulis, wild strawberry and quince aromas. The palate is quite rich and powerful, with layered red berry fruit laced with white pepper and a touch of thyme. This is a slightly burly Aloxe-Corton in the making, although personally I discern more nerve on the Vercots.
