Gruner Veltliner, Ried Kammerner Lamm, Erste Lage, 2020
Crisp, clean appley flavours with a hint of bell pepper and spice. Full but crispy with fine line of acidity and notes of white currant, peach and salt. Raised in a combination of large and small oak, the only wine in the range to do so. From a vineyard on the southeastern side of the Heiligenstein mountain where the soils are sandstone, volcanic and loess-rich. South facing exposition produces multi-layered, expressive Gruner Veltliners.

The 2020 Ried Kammerner Lamm 1OTW Kamptal Gruner Veltliner shows a bouquet of ripe stone fruit. Juicy, fine and yeasty in the mouth, this is a very fine, elegant and balanced Lamm with delicate, salty acidity and fine tannins as well as stimulating bitter notes on the long and intense finish. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in September 2021.
