The 2021 Grüner Veltliner Gaisberg has a perfumed sense of ivy and moss. The fragrance carries right onto the palate and retains this subtle scent of woodland and citrus throughout, with a smooth, supple yeastiness—almost cooling and fresh. This is elegant, soothing, slender, silky and fresh, with truly lasting persistence. (Bone-dry)
Eichinger's 2021 Gruner Veltliner Ried Strasser Gaisberg 1OTW has very clear, fresh, elegant and bright fruit with fine loess spice but also delicate flinty notes on the nose. Delicate and juicy on the palate, this is an elegant, mouthfilling but also fine-bodied GV with balanced fruit and good aromatic and textural length with animating salinity. It's quite stout but elegant. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork stopper. Tasted in Grafenegg in September 2022.
