Domaine Weinbach
Gewurztraminer, Grand Cru, Furstentum, 2024
justerini & brooks tasting note
From the Grand Cru Furstentum, formed of limestone-clay and sandstone soils, this is bottled with 12g/l residual sugar and comes across drier and leaner in style than the Altenbourg. More refined and delicately complex, it shows notes of white rose petals, orange oil and crisp greengage. The palate is oily yet lifted and bright, with a nice balance of salts and citrus fruits. Aged for 10 months in old oak foudrés, it offers excellent ageing potential.
