Pinot Noir, Clos des Capucins, 2024
From older vines on the sandy, silty soils of the Clos des Capucins surrounding the estate. Due to the very small quantities produced, we were unfortunately unable to taste this wine. In 2024 it was entirely destemmed. The Clos is typically the most supple and juicy of the domaine’s Pinot Noirs, suited to earlier drinking. Aged for 14 months in old 228L barrels and foudrés.
critic reviews
The 2024 Pinot Noir Clos des Capucins is grown on the sandy soils closest to the estate. All the fruit was destemmed. Slight smokiness on the nose evokes distant woodfire on a winter day followed by red-fruited smoothness. The light palate is smooth and creamy, surprisingly so in this difficult year, but there is distinct, juicy ripeness and plenty of suppleness on a slender body that spells joy and ease. (Bone-dry)
