Domaine Weinbach
Riesling, Altenbourg, 2023
justerini & brooks tasting note
From the limestone-rich soils of the Altenbourg, a steep, south-west facing slope just beneath the Grand Cru Furstentum, it comes across as more reserved on the nose, with delicate aromatics. The palate is driven by a vibrant, sherbet-like acidity, delivering power and structure rather than overt fruit, with notes of grapefruit and white pepper spice leading to a long, savoury finish.

The 2023 Riesling Altenbourg is from limestone soils. Subtle smokiness wraps itself around gentle citrus, which opens up more and more on the nose. The palate is totally clean-cut but offers soothing peachiness in its cooling depth. This is beautiful, bright and elegant (Bone-dry)
