The 2025 Bonalgue marks a century of ownership by the Audy family. It was aged in 47% new oak, with some WineGlobe and newly introduced sandstone jars. It has a tightly wound bouquet with raspberry and wild strawberry fruit, sous-bois and light minty scents that open with time in the glass. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded, polished tannins, demonstrating more density than the previous vintage, with gentle grip, lightly spiced with white pepper, cinnamon and clove. Fine cohesion on the brisk and lively finish, this Pomerol should drink well for 15 to 20 years. 13.1% alcohol.
A ton of fragrant fruits, this is a sand, gravel sector, still with some clay but less than at Clos du Clocher, and yet they manage to capture a juicy fruit profile, coupled with a bitter rosemary edge and mouthwatering slate, with clear Pomerol typicity. 47% new oak barrels. 3.61ph. 100 years of the Bourotte family at Bonalgue.
