Château Doisy Daëne, 2ème Cru Classé, Barsac, 2013

An exceptionally good vintage for this property, one of the wines of the vintage. Full but floral refreshing and silky. Voluptuous notes of pineapple, passion fruit, fruit blossom honey and citrus rind. A beautiful, complete and harmonious Doisy Daene. A blend of 70% Semillon and 30% Sauvignon. There is 139g/l of sugar here but the structure of the wine, whilst clearly concentrated, seems refreshing and sufficiently agile. The team consider this a “quite exceptional” vintage where they picked great quality grapes in a much shorter period of time than usual, a few days at the end of September.
