critic reviews
Deep garnet-purple colored. Gives up notes of kirsch and raspberry coulis, giving way to hints of tobacco leaf, lavender, and Provence herbs. The light to medium-bodied palate offers a good intensity of bright red and blackberry flavors, supported by approachable tannins and a lively line, finishing savory.
The 2024 Château du Tertre has a delineated and focused bouquet, with pure black plum, blueberry fruit and violet aromas. The oak is prudently used. The palate is medium-bodied with a bit of chewiness on the entry and light grip. This attenuates slightly toward the finish but there is freshness and sapidity. Not a long-term du Tertre but I think it is well made.
Chalk, slate, rosebuds, super charming, this is a carefully constructed, remains a little bit on the quiet side of the vintage, walks the line of ripeness, with an understated finesse and plenty of Margaux typicity. Helfrich family owners, 40hl/ha yield.
A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2024 du Tertre unwinds in the glass with notes of cassis, plums, a touch of licorice and spices. Medium to full-bodied, bright and lively, with sweet tannins and good depth for the vintage, it's the result of a harvest that began on September 24 and concluded on October 8.
