Château Pavie Macquin
Château Pavie Macquin, Grand Cru Classé, St Emilion, 2012
justerini & brooks tasting note
The 2012 Pavie Macquin is less exuberant than the perky Larcis Ducasse, but it is still impressively endowed with fruit extract and offers a plethora of nuanced fruit aromas. A beautiful bouquet of liquorice, sweet damp earth, purple fruit, griotte, floral perfume, herbs and potpourri. The palate is full of pure silky fruit and savoury notes; lovely grippy tannins and fresh acidity. This is a very good effort and quite large scale for the vintage.
