Château Teyssier
Château Teyssier, St Emilion Grand Cru, 2009
justerini & brooks tasting note
We have come to expect good things from Chateau Teyssier over the years, and the 2009 is probably their best effort to date. Not only is this a working winery, this is also chez Jonathan Maltus and HQ for his Bordeaux empire. The Chateau itself is exquisite, but sadly the terroir is not, which makes the wine even more remarkable. There are notes of Blueberries, plum liqueur and a hint of cigar box and smoke. The palate is packed with ripe, velvety soft fruits. There is really good intensity here and beautifully grainy, balanced tannins.
