Olivier Bernard's Domaine de Chevalier estate is a wine you can safely buy en primeur every year. The quality of the wines is quite exceptional and Olivier understands the market so his release price is always fair. This was one of the most impressive wines from the Pessac commune. A sexy melting pot of minerals, dark fruit compote, graphite and incense develops into a mouth filling palate of refined cassis fruit with a hint of stones. There is wonderful volume here, lovely amplitude and a decadent dark chocolate finish.
