Mazoyeres Chambertin is relatively rarely found owing to the fact that it makes up just over half of the wider Charmes Chambertin appellation. Most growers opt to label as Charmes over Mazoyeres. In fact Mazoyeres is generally considered to be one of the weaker Grand Crus mostly because it is a large vineyard with a fair amount of topographical variation. Charmes and Mazoyeres combined brings the total area to over 30 HA, thus a consistent style and character is difficult to pin down. Picking the right plot from the right producer is very important when it comes to Charmes and Mazoyeres Chambertin but excellent examples are produced by the likes of Rousseau, Roumier and Perrot-Minot.
