Chassagne-Montrachet, 2017
A great Villages bursting with open-knit, joy-filled golden fruit flavours. Plenty of richness yet with a crackling freshness, too. Expressive flavours of mirabelles, nut, citrus and lime. Clearly, unashamedly Chassagne, but a very well balanced one. From numerous parcels on the Puligny side of the Chassagne appellation.

The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Village is showing very well after bottling. It has a reassuringly complex, involving bouquet with scents of white flowers, honeysuckle and light menthol aromas that are, frankly, Premier Cru in quality. The palate is fresh on the entry with a fine bead of acidity and very pure and refined, showing good depth and freshness toward the long, saline finish. I think this is one of the few cuvées from Bachelet-Monnot that will surpass the 2018.
