Less intense but perhaps more refined than the Charmes, a focused Santenay with a bracing line in red fruits and a firm stoniness that comes from the limestone soils. A haunting, lifted finish brings this to a fine end.

The 2023 Santenay Les Prarons, vinified with 35% whole bunches, is more opulent than the Les Charmes-Dessus. It offers Morello cherry, raspberry coulis and wild strawberry scents. The palate is lightly spiced with perfectly pitched acidity and a tingle of white pepper on the finish. It sashays along with style—excellent.
