St Aubin, En Remilly, 1er Cru, 2023
Sunkissed yet so radiant and full of verve - attractive golden berry and Mirabelle fruit covers a lot of mineral and stony extract; charming and sunny but long and agile. Seductive and very stylish. From a top notch south-facing vineyard, just behind the woods above Le Montrachet, on the road to St Aubin. The soil is dry and stony, whilst the Combe has a cooling influence. Fermentation and élévage take place in 350 litre barrels, with no bâtonnage, for 12 months before six months in stainless steel.
critic reviews
The 2023 Saint-Aubin En Remilly 1er Cru comes from a parcel reduced in quantity since part of the vineyard was pulled up, comprising just two used barrels. It has a fresh sea spray-tinged bouquet with hints of yellow flower and a subtle licorice note. The medium-bodied palate offers tropical fruit on the entry—apricot and passion fruit—but the acidity keeps it in check. Very seductive.
