Already in bottle, Berthaut's 2021 Hautes-Cotes de Nuits Rouge derives from vines that are trained low and planted at high density, like on the Cote d'Or. Exhibiting aromas of smoky plums and berries, it's medium-bodied, lively and attractive, with powdery tannins and a saline finish.

Bottled in July, the 2021 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits has a light red cherry and blueberry-scented nose. The palate is grainy on the entry, just a little lean on the mid-palate with an abrupt finish.
