The 2015 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has an initially slightly disjointed bouquet that comes together nicely with aeration. I like the purity here, and the oak is beautifully integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin, judicious acidity and wonderful precision as it crescendoes in a detailed finish. Yes, there is a veneer of new oak to be absorbed, but there is enormous potential. Long-term and quite regal. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
