Cecile Tremblay
Bourgogne, Rouge, 2012
justerini & brooks tasting note
One of the wines in the cellar that is fermented without any stalks. A Bourgogne from the Chambolle and Vosne communes that boasts lots of character and style; black and red cherry fruit hints of sloe gently clasped by firm tannins, surprisingly full in body, complex and dense for a Bourgogne.

The 2012 Bourgogne, from parcels in Chambolle and Vosne, is a big wine, especially at its level. Dark red cherry, plum, smoke and licorice all flesh out in a deep, vinous, over-achieving wine. A deep, fleshy finish rounds things out nicely. Readers who want to experience Cecile Tremblay's wines without spending a fortune should start here. The Bourgogne was made entirely with destemmed fruit.
