The 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Rouges du Dessus has excessive reduction on the nose that is difficult to dislodge despite vigorous aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine definition and exhibiting little of the reduction that obscures the aromatics. Fine weight, very focused, this is a classy Premier Cru with a persistent and "complete" finish. Afford it three or four years in the cellar. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.
