From the high Rouges de Dessous parcel just above Echézeaux, a late ripening gravelly vineyard that yields wines of great vitality. This is incredibly focused, shows a laser-like precision and offers boundless energy. Cool, tense and vivid flavours of red currant, cherry, raspberry, damson and loganberry with more than a hint of deep mineral and rock salt elements. A stunner to stop you in your tracks.

The 2009 Vosne-Romanée Les Rouges du Dessus reveals a powerful, dark personality. There is marvelous tension between the explosive dark fruit and the wine's considerable underlying structure. This intense Vosne needs a few years to settle down, but it is magnificent even today.
