Gevrey Chambertin, Belair, 1er Cru, 2021
Such a pretty Gevrey, with floral notes and fine red berry fruit. Great precision, detail and lift with a fine acidity. Lovely silky transparent precision here and really quite a lot of intensity. Electric energetic Gevrey. A real success. A fabulous Premier Cru situated at the top of the hill just above Ruchottes-Chambertin. Stony soils in a lofty position close to the woods, and an east/south-east exposition yield a racy, fresh elegant style of Gevrey.

The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Bel-Air 1er Cru has a well-defined nose with transparent red fruit and touches of sous-bois, very Gevrey in style. The palate is medium-bodied with a supple entry, good body and gentle grip with a judicious spice note on the harmonious finish. This is a well-made and quite delicious Gevrey.
