Château de Meursault
Meursault, Clos des Grands Charrons, Monopole, 2020
justerini & brooks tasting note
As good as villages level Meursault gets. A real gem that offers a stunning balance of ripe citrus and stone fruit, zesty lemon rind and a buttery hazelnut richness. This has a great feel and dynamic to it, deep but seamless and with crystal clear precision. Pure harmony. A very well-situated Monopole lieu dit from the mid-slope, on the same level as Perrieres, that shows more intensity and precision than most Meursault villages. Aged for 15 months in 30% new oak.

The 2020 Meursault Clos des Grands Charrons offers white flowers, dried honey and light acacia scents on the nose. The palate is underpinned by a fine line of acidity, taut and fresh with just a touch of bitter lemon on the finish. Delightful.
