Meursault, Clos des Grands Charrons, Monopole, 2022

This offers a lovely marriage of open ease and tension. A very accomplished Meursault with line, breadth and polish. There is lots to love in this energetic Grand Charrons that, after a wash of full, juicy fruits in the middle, tapers off to a focussed finish with impressive persistence and salinity. Very smart. A very well-situated Monopole lieu dit from the mid-slope, on the same level as Perrières, that shows more intensity and precision than most Meursault villages. Aged for 15 months in 30% new oak.
