Very ‘limestone’ and chalky. Intense and serious Volnay with its habitual dark, tight-knit berry profile. Svelte bramble and black cherry fruit with a chalky tannic structure. Rich yet tight and with a great lift that comes from a strong minerality lying at the core of this wine. Coming from cool Marne Blanche soils and 45 year-old vines that often produce small ‘millerande’ berries resulting in dark, suave, intense wines.
