Volnay, Clos des Chênes, 1er Cru, 2018

Very concentrated flavours. You can really taste the small, dark profile of the berries this vineyard yields, year in year out. Tight-knit cassis, bramble fruit with a chalk mineral touch. Dense and with loads of dry extract. Svelte but powerful, velvety Volnay. Coming from cool marne blanche soils and 45-year-old vines that often produce small "millerande" berries resulting in dark, suave, intense wines.
