Fixin, 2021

A super fine and expressive Fixin with aromas of wild strawberry and peach skin. Lacy, detailed and lifted on the palate with a fine line of minerals and aromatic red fruits. Fixin surely doesn’t get much more elegant than this. Arnaud Mortet is one of Fixin’s great advocates, believing that its combination of profound, complex soils and position on the Combe yields wines with a fine, fragrant mineral profile not dissimilar to the great Lavaux Saint Jacques. From vines averaging 60 years old, raised in 10% new oak with 80% whole bunches, the small berries here being particularly hard to destem effectively.
