Rully, Rouge, Cuvée Marey, 2017
A beautiful light, clear red colour with a pink tinge. More tannic and more serious than their regular Bellecroix Rully but velvety and nothing at all forced about it. Gently gripping, sumptuous ripe red fruits. Notes of loganberry and raspberry with an earthy complexity. Structured but caressing. Beautifully poised. Superb. An east-facing 45 year-old plot within the Clos de la Belle Croix vineyard. Aged in both steel cuve (one third) and wooden fût (two thirds,) one fifth of which are new.
critic reviews
The 2017 Rully Cuvee Marey is showing very well, wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, red berries and plum pits. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and generous, with sweet, powdery tannins and ripe acids. This is a gourmand, expressive red Rully from Domaine de la Folie.
