Domaine de la Folie
Rully, Rouge, Cuvée Marey, 2018
justerini & brooks tasting note
Deep and velvety. Lovely smooth, dark hedgerow fruit with hints of vanilla pod and a more savoury sapid quality. A really serious and solid red Rully with a lot of power and complexity to it. An east facing 45-year-old plot within the Clos de la Belle Croix vineyard. Aged in both steel cuve (one third) and wooden fut (two thirds) 15% of which are new.

Bursting with aromas of cassis, plums and spices, the 2018 Rully Cuvee Marey is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and generous, with a gourmand core of succulent fruit and ripe but youthfully chewy tannins. It's a hearty, invitingly rustic Rully that will drink well young.
