Juicy, soft set fruit with gentle tannins. Not particularly complex but easy to enjoy. Invariably one of the earlier drinking cuvées in the cellar, intentionally so. Vinified with just 15% new oak.

The 2021 Beaune Les Sizies 1er Cru has an open nose with blackberry and raspberry fruit, plenty of undergrowth and light autumnal scents of woodland and field mushrooms. The palate is medium-bodied with a peppery entry (one-third whole bunch), balanced, but it shows a little leanness towards the finish.
